The MLB Pipeline has released an updated version of its Top 100 Prospects list, providing a revised look at the most promising young talent in baseball as the Major League postseason begins and the Minor League season concludes. This update, described by MLB Pipeline as a series of “market corrections,” includes a revote on the top 15 prospects, significant movements for players who have shown notable improvement or decline, and new additions to replace those who no longer qualify.
Konnor Griffin of the Pirates retains his position at No. 1, with Kevin McGonigle (Tigers) and Leo De Vries (Athletics) rounding out the top three. The debate between Griffin and McGonigle for the top spot is expected to continue into next year. Nolan McLean of the Mets made one of the largest jumps within the top 15, moving from No. 36 to No. 11 after a strong performance that solidified his status as a leading pitching prospect.
Among other significant risers are Rainiel Rodriguez (Cardinals), Carter Jensen (Royals), and Robby Snelling (Marlins). Rodriguez advanced from No. 93 to No. 55 after climbing three levels in his first stateside season and hitting 20 home runs across various minor league teams. Jensen moved up thanks to his power at the plate and recent promotion to Kansas City’s major league roster, while Snelling demonstrated success transitioning to Triple-A and Major League Baseball with impressive pitching statistics.
New faces on the list include Elmer Rodriguez-Cruz (Yankees), Jackson Ferris (Dodgers), and Emil Morales (Dodgers). These additions reflect their strong performances over the past season, with Rodriguez-Cruz building on increased velocity and strikeout totals, Ferris improving his ERA in Double-A Tulsa, and Morales showing consistent development after moving stateside.
Several prospects experienced declines in their rankings due to injuries or underperformance. Leonardo Bernal (Cardinals) dropped from No. 69 to No. 92 following offensive struggles mid-season, while Jeferson Quero’s (Brewers) standing was affected by recovery from shoulder surgery and diminished defensive output.
Players removed from this iteration of the Top 100 include Jefferson Rojas (Cubs), Logan Henderson (Brewers), and Felnin Celesten (Mariners). Their departures were attributed to challenges adapting to higher competition levels or injury setbacks.
The adjustments provide an updated perspective on which players are rising stars heading into offseason preparations for both minor league affiliates and their parent organizations.
