Philadelphia Union has confirmed the acquisition of $50,000 in 2026 General Allocation Money (GAM) from Austin FC. The deal involves the Union trading an international roster slot to Austin.

The transaction was made public on August 6, 2025. According to the club, “Philadelphia Union announced today they have received $50,000 in 2026 General Allocation Money (GAM) from Austin FC. In return, Austin will receive an international roster slot from the Union.”

The official summary of the agreement states: “TRANSACTION: Philadelphia Union acquire $50,000 in 2026 GAM from Austin FC in exchange for an international roster slot.”

General Allocation Money is a resource used by Major League Soccer clubs to manage their salary budgets and sign new players. International roster slots allow teams to sign players who do not hold U.S. citizenship or permanent residency.
