Philadelphia Union signs Neil Pierre as homegrown defender ahead of Vancouver match

Philadelphia Union has signed Neil Pierre to a short-term agreement. The club announced that the homegrown defender will be available for the upcoming match against Vancouver Whitecaps FC. Pierre is classified as an off-roster Homegrown player.

According to the 2025 MLS Roster Rules and Regulations, off-roster Homegrown Players are not eligible for MLS League Season competition except as short-term call-ups. These players can participate in up to six league matches per season under this arrangement, provided they are 21 years old or younger during the calendar year and remain on their initial MLS contract.

The signing marks the eleventh such call-up by Philadelphia Union in 2025. Pierre has not yet appeared in a league match.

Pierre was born on October 19, 2007, in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. He stands at 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 176 pounds.
