Philadelphia Union has signed Neil Pierre to a short-term agreement, making him available for the team’s match against D.C. United. Pierre is classified as an off-roster Homegrown player, a designation that allows clubs to temporarily add young players from their development system under specific conditions.

According to 2025 MLS Roster Rules and Regulations, off-roster Homegrown Players are not eligible for regular MLS League Season competition unless called up on a short-term basis. These players can be called up for up to six matches per season and must be 21 years old or younger during the calendar year. The rule also states that as long as age requirements are met and the player remains on their initial contract, they may continue in this status.

This call-up marks the 13th such move by Philadelphia Union in 2025. Pierre previously made his MLS debut against Vancouver Whitecaps FC on September 13.

“Philadelphia Union sign Neil Pierre to a short-term agreements on September 27, 2025.”

Pierre is a defender who stands at 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 176 pounds. He was born on October 19, 2007, in Lebanon, Pennsylvania.
