Philadelphia Union has signed goalkeeper George Marks for the remainder of the 2025 season. Marks will join the club’s active roster immediately.
“George is a strong addition who adds depth and reliability to our goalkeeper unit,” said Philadelphia Union Sporting Director, Ernst Tanner. “His collegiate and MLS experience have shown his potential, and we’re confident he can contribute the support we need at the position.”
Marks, age 25, entered Major League Soccer after being selected 57th overall in the 2022 MLS SuperDraft by Charlotte FC. He officially joined Charlotte on February 22, 2022. During his time with Charlotte FC, Marks appeared in eight league matches over three seasons, making 31 saves and earning two clean sheets. His playing history also includes appearances in two U.S. Open Cup matches and nine games for Crown Legacy FC in MLS NEXT Pro.
Before turning professional, Marks played college soccer at Clemson University. He served as team captain during their run to the 2021 NCAA National Championship and was named Most Outstanding Defensive Player for his efforts.
The transaction was completed on August 26, 2025.
