Philadelphia Union achieved a decisive 6-0 victory over D.C. United on Saturday night in Washington, D.C., marking their highest single-game goal total this season. The result strengthens the Union’s position at the top of the league standings with two matches left in the regular season.

The team delivered a comprehensive performance, with midfielder Indiana Vassilev scoring twice—his third career brace—with goals in both halves. Mikael Uhre and Milan Iloski each contributed to three goals, scoring once and providing two assists apiece. The attacking group combined for all six goals.

With this win, Philadelphia Union set a new club record for road victories with eight and tied their single-season record for wins at 19.

Head Coach Bradley Carnell fielded his 27th unique starting lineup due to suspensions and international duty. Leading scorer Tai Baribo was suspended because of yellow card accumulation, while defender Frankie Westfield was away representing the U.S. Under-20 Men’s National Team at the FIFA U-20 World Cup. Olwethu Makhanya returned to pair with Jakob Glesnes in central defense, and Kai Wagner and Nathan Harriel played as outside backs.

An early injury to Quinn Sullivan forced a change, bringing Mikael Uhre into the match and shifting Iloski into an attacking midfield role opposite Vassilev.

Bruno Damiani opened the scoring after linking up with Uhre and Iloski in the 17th minute. Shortly after, D.C. United nearly equalized but hit both the post and crossbar on separate chances by Jared Stroud.

Kai Wagner set up Damiani for another chance in the 34th minute; this time a deflected shot from Uhre doubled Philadelphia’s lead. Three minutes later, Vassilev capitalized on a rebound to make it 3-0 following an attempt by Iloski.

After halftime, Iloski scored from distance to extend the lead to four before Vassilev finished off a well-worked move for his second goal just two minutes later. In the 62nd minute, Uhre capped off his night by finishing a play created by Iloski.

Philadelphia Union will return home next Saturday to face New York City FC at Subaru Park for their final regular season home match—a rivalry game that also serves as their fan appreciation event presented by Independence Blue Cross. Limited tickets remain available online.
