Philadelphia Union’s homegrown player Frankie Westfield made an impact in the United States’ opening match at the Under-20 World Cup. Westfield started for the national team and scored the fourth goal in a 9-1 victory over New Caledonia on Monday.

Westfield found the net in the 28th minute, contributing to a strong performance by the U.S. squad. He is continuing a tradition of Philadelphia Union players representing their country at youth international tournaments, following Quinn Sullivan, Jack McGlynn, and Brandan Craig, who played in the 2023 U-20 World Cup.
