Philadelphia Union midfielder Cavan Sullivan has been named a finalist for the 2025 U.S. Soccer Young Male Player of the Year award. The announcement was made by U.S. Soccer, which included Sullivan among nominees Josh Wynder, Benjamin Cremaschi, Brooklyn Raines, and Mathis Albert.

Sullivan played a key role for the United States at the U-17 World Cup in Qatar, contributing to four out of five goals scored by the team. He scored game-winning goals in matches against Burkina Faso and Tajikistan and provided assists in games against Tajikistan and Morocco during the Round of 32.

With Philadelphia Union, Sullivan appeared in 11 matches and became the youngest starter in club history when he started against Nashville SC on July 5th. In addition to his first-team appearances, he played with Union II in MLS NEXT Pro, where he scored six goals and registered six assists over 14 matches.

Voting for the award is currently open and will close on Friday, December 12 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Winners are scheduled to be announced in January 2025.

“Cavan Sullivan is up for the honor,” according to U.S. Soccer’s announcement.
