The Philadelphia Union has announced the return of its Pro Player Experience this November, offering high school-aged boys and girls an opportunity to participate in a full-day event at the WSFS Bank Sportsplex. The program is now in its second year and aims to give young athletes a sense of what it is like to train and prepare as professional soccer players.

Participants will engage in training sessions led by the club’s Professional Youth Coaching Staff. The event includes pro-style evaluations, three competitive 30-minute matches, and opportunities for players to showcase their skills in front of invited college coaches. Organizers state that the experience is designed to mirror aspects of training with the Union’s First Team.

Beyond on-field activities, attendees will receive a tour of Subaru Park stadium and access to the First Team locker room. There will also be an exclusive meet-and-greet session with Jon Scheer, Academy Director for the Philadelphia Union, where players can ask questions about advancing to higher levels of play. Meals are provided throughout the day, and each participant will receive an official Union Game Kit.

“Train and Compete Like the First TeamParticipants will take part in an elite-level training session led by the Union’s Professional Youth Coaching Staff, complete with: Pro-style evaluation Three competitive 30-minute matches College coaches will be invited to attend Showcase your talent in a high-performance environment,” according to information from organizers.

Additional benefits include walking on fields used by notable team members such as Kai Wagner, Andre Blake, and Quinn Sullivan.

Organizers advise interested participants that spots are limited and registration is expected to fill quickly.
