The team made four changes to their starting lineup compared to their previous game against FC Cincinnati on August 30. Team captain Alejandro Bedoya started for the 225th time in Major League Soccer for Philadelphia Union. Midfielder Jesus Bueno earned his tenth start of the 2025 season. Homegrown midfielder Quinn Sullivan marked his 120th career MLS appearance with this start. Forward Mikael Uhre registered his 115th league appearance for the club.

Neil Pierre was included in the matchday roster after signing a short-term agreement to be eligible for selection.
