Philadelphia Union has announced it will receive $100,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM) from San Diego FC. The deal includes $50,000 in GAM for 2025 and another $50,000 for 2026. In exchange, the club has loaned midfielder David Vázquez to San Diego FC until the end of the 2025 MLS season. The agreement also gives San Diego FC an option to make the loan permanent.
David Vázquez, age 19, joined Philadelphia Union as a homegrown player on April 29, 2024. During this season, he started in 14 matches for Union II in MLS NEXT Pro and recorded two goals and one assist. He made his Major League Soccer debut on June 29, 2025 against Columbus Crew.
Internationally, Vázquez has been called up to represent the United States at the under-17, under-19, and under-20 youth national team levels.
