For the fifth time in 2025, Philadelphia Union II has been recognized as the MLS NEXT Pro Team of the Matchweek. The league made the announcement on Monday after Union II’s 5-2 home win over Chicago Fire II, a match between two leading teams in the Eastern Conference.

Stas Korzeniowski scored twice, marking his first professional brace. He found the net in both halves, opening with a goal from a counter attack in the 15th minute and scoring again in the 66th minute. Sal Olivas also contributed to the first half tally, finishing another counter attack assisted by Cavan Sullivan. Sullivan later converted a penalty at the hour mark. Malik Jakupovic came off the bench to score his eighth goal of the season, leading the team in goals for 2025.

Goalkeeper George Marks made his second start for Union II and recorded a club-best 10 saves during the match, helping prevent any comeback attempts by Chicago Fire II.

Union II currently holds second place in their conference, trailing first place by three points with two games remaining in the regular season. Their next match is scheduled against Toronto FC II at York Lions Stadium on Friday, September 26th at 7PM. The game will be available on MLS Season Pass via Apple TV.
