Philadelphia Union hosts Kick Childhood Cancer weekend honoring young patients

The Philadelphia Union hosted their annual Kick Childhood Cancer match at Subaru Park, focusing on supporting children affected by cancer. The event was organized in partnership with Kisses for Kyle, a group that helps families dealing with pediatric cancer. Each day, about 43 children are diagnosed with cancer in the United States.

On Friday evening, the club held a carnival-themed gathering at Union Yards for children who are undergoing or have completed cancer treatment and their families. Activities included games, a petting zoo, and bounce houses.

Saturday’s events began with a pregame tailgate for the group known as the Fearless 43 and their families. During halftime of the match against New England Revolution, fans showed support by waving Kick Childhood Cancer flags and blowing bubbles as the children were recognized on the field. The Sons of Ben supporters group displayed a special tifo honoring the Fearless 43.

Philadelphia Union secured a 1-0 victory with a goal from Bruno Damiani in the 70th minute. After the game, players joined the Fearless 43 on the field to celebrate.

The Sons of Ben even hoisted a special Fearless 43 tifo to show their support.”

“The Boys in Blue pulled off an important 1-0 win by way of a 70th minute goal from Bruno Damiani, and after the final whistle, the players celebrated their win Fearless 43 on the pitch.”
