Philadelphia Union will host Chicago Fire FC on Saturday, August 23, with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET. The match will be broadcast on MLS Season Pass via Apple TV.
The event, titled Fiesta Hispana and presented by Bimbo Bakeries USA, features several activities and food options highlighting Hispanic culture. Fans are advised that all official Union parking lots open at 2:30 p.m., and purchasing a parking pass in advance is recommended to ensure a spot due to limited availability.
Food offerings at the Subaru Plaza’s Food Village include returning vendors Café Tinto, Empanada Bar, and Puyero Venezuelan Flavor, representing Colombian, Argentinian, and Venezuelan cuisine. New this year is Taqueria Dos Hermanos serving Mexican food. Vendors will operate from the plaza’s opening at 5:30 p.m. through halftime.
Union Yards will offer a specialty cocktail called Spicy Paloma made with Patron tequila exclusively for Fiesta Hispana. Live music featuring Venezuela Salsa and Latin Jazz is scheduled on stage at Union Yards starting at 4:30 p.m.
Spanish language announcements during the match will be provided by AP Palacios alongside Kevin Casey. The halftime show includes Danza Tenochtli performing Mexican Folkloric dance.
A new addition to Subaru Plaza this year is a giant Adirondak chair sponsored by Visit St. Pete-Clearwater. Fans can take photos in their Union gear on the chair for a chance to appear on the team’s online fan wall.
Union Yards opens at 4:30 p.m., offering happy hour pricing of $10 per beer during its first hour of operation. The venue includes a full bar with 20 beers on tap as well as wine, liquor, soft drinks, multiple TVs showing sports events, tailgate games, lounge seating, firepits, string lights, and trees throughout.
Stadium gates open at 6 p.m., ahead of the match against Chicago Fire FC.
Concessions around Subaru Park have been updated for 2025 with new menu items available throughout the stadium including Colbie’s (Section 132), Primo Hoagies (Section 125), Cooper Cheese (Union Yards; Philly Cheesesteak Co. On The Roll at Section 107; Primepoint Club; Suites), Rita’s (Section 109), and Hatfield Hot Dogs at various locations.
Subaru Park has maintained its status as Major League Soccer’s first zero landfill soccer stadium since declaring this goal in 2021 through an initiative led by Philadelphia Union and Subaru. The facility reduces, reuses or recycles over ninety percent of its waste while converting any remaining waste into energy rather than sending it to landfills. In-stadium messaging and easy sorting systems have halved fan-generated waste per person and increased recycling fivefold since implementation.
“With the Philadelphia Union’s innovative, forward-thinking initiatives and Subaru’s long history of environmentalism and zero landfill expertise, the Union and Subaru have made Subaru Park the first zero landfill soccer stadium in Major League Soccer,” according to information provided by organizers. “To achieve this, Subaru Park reduces, reuses, and recycles more than 90% of its waste with the remaining waste converted to energy, thereby putting nothing into landfills since officially declaring zero-landfill status in 2021.”
“By creating in-stadium messaging and an easy system for fans to sort their waste,” organizers stated further,”Subaru and the Union cut the amount of waste each fan generated in half and increased the amount of waste fans recycle five-fold.” They added that “helping to keep trash out of landfills is just another way Subaru lives up to its commitment to support the Philadelphia community through its partnership with the Philadelphia Union.”
