The Philadelphia Union, in collaboration with Malamut Law, will hold a donation drive during the first round playoff match on Sunday, October 26, beginning at 3:30 p.m. The initiative is part of the organization’s efforts leading up to GivingTuesday, a global movement that promotes generosity and community support.

This year, the club aims to collect giving bags for people experiencing homelessness in Chester and Philadelphia. The bags will contain daily necessities such as socks, winter accessories, toothbrushes and toothpaste, combs or brushes, mints, lip balm, hand sanitizer, body wipes, medicine, nutritional snacks, and Ziploc bags. These items are intended to help improve hygiene and health during the winter season.

Fans attending the match are encouraged to drop off completed bags or individual items at the U-Serve Tent located on the plaza before entering Subaru Park. The first 100 donors who bring giving bags will receive a 2025 team photo.

Participants can also earn U-Serve hours for their contributions. Donating one to five bags earns one hour of service credit; six to ten bags earn two hours; and donations exceeding ten bags will be credited with three hours.

“The donation drive comes as part of the organization’s preperations for GivingTuesday, a Global generosity movement which encourages people to transform their communities. This year, the Union will be curating giving bags for the unhoused within the Chester and Philadelphia areas. Each giving bag will be filled with daily necessities to improve hygiene, nourish, and prevent colds during the Winter months.”

For more information about this event or about U-Serve hours, fans are directed to visit the club’s website.
