The Philadelphia Union have secured the 2025 Supporters’ Shield following a 1-0 win over New York City FC. This victory improved their season record to 20 wins, 6 draws, and 7 losses, marking a new club record for total wins in a single season.

The team achieved this milestone at home, lifting the shield for only the second time in club history. With 66 points from 33 matches, the Union will finish the regular season with the best overall record in Major League Soccer (MLS), regardless of their final match result.

Head Coach Bradley Carnell, who joined during the offseason, and Sporting Director Ernst Tanner led the team throughout a consistent year. The Union posted the league’s best defensive record by conceding just 33 goals. They also recorded 12 home victories and set a new club high with eight away wins.

The squad included veteran players, international signings, developing prospects, and Homegrown talent. After their latest win, they celebrated on the field with supporters, family members, and friends.

With this achievement, the Union have earned home-field advantage for all rounds of the Audi 2025 MLS Cup Playoffs. Their final regular-season game is scheduled against Charlotte FC at Bank of America Stadium on October 18.

“It’s been a special season for the Philadelphia Union, but it’s not over yet – along with the award, the Union has earned home-field advantage throughout the Audi 2025 MLS Cup Playoffs.”
