The Philadelphia Union secured the 2025 Supporters’ Shield with a 1-0 win over New York City FC at Subaru Park on Saturday. This marks the second time in club history that the Union have won the trophy, their first coming in 2020. The result guarantees Philadelphia a place in the 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup and gives them the top seed and home-field advantage for the upcoming Audi MLS Cup Playoffs.

Forward Mikael Uhre scored the only goal of the match in the 40th minute, assisted by Jovan Lukic. Goalkeeper Andre Blake recorded his ninth clean sheet of the season as Philadelphia earned its twelfth home victory. With this win, the team set a new club record for total wins in a single season, improving to a 20-6-7 record.

The Union’s achievement makes them only the seventh team in Major League Soccer history to win multiple Supporters’ Shields. They also become just the second expansion club to accomplish this feat, joining LAFC.

Coach Bradley Carnell is now one of three coaches in league history to lead multiple clubs to at least 55 points during their debut seasons. At Subaru Park, Philadelphia has accumulated 40 points at home this regular season, tying for most points at home among all teams (12-1-4 record).

Philadelphia will finish their regular season schedule with an away match against Charlotte FC on October 18.
