The Philadelphia Union Academy U-15 and U-16 teams began their Generation adidas Cup campaigns with shutout victories over Sporting Kansas City on Mar. 28, according to the club.
These results mark a strong start for both academy squads in Group G of the tournament. The U-15 team secured a 2-0 win, with Gino Cecere opening the scoring after halftime and Mason Cannon adding a late goal to secure all three points. The U-16 side followed with a 1-0 victory, as Timoni Gbalajobi scored in the first half and continued his good form following his Golden Boot award at Snow Bowl 2026.
Both matches took place at IMG Academy. After their respective wins, the U-15s are set to face Inter Miami CF next, while the U-16s will play Atlanta United FC tomorrow afternoon.
