The Philadelphia Flyers announced on Apr. 9 that center Jack Berglund has signed a three-year entry-level contract, which will begin in the 2026-27 season. General Manager Daniel Briere said Berglund will join the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the American Hockey League for the rest of the 2025-26 season.
Berglund, who is 19 years old, was drafted by the Flyers in the second round as the 51st overall pick in the 2024 National Hockey League Draft. He has attended Flyers Development Camp for two consecutive years. Internationally, Berglund represented Sweden at both the 2026 IIHF World Junior Championship and the 2024 IIHF U18 World Championship. During this year’s World Junior Championship, he captained Sweden to its first gold medal since 2012 and tied for his team’s lead in scoring with ten points over seven games while leading all players with a +9 rating.
He is now the fourth player from Philadelphia’s 2024 draft class to sign an entry-level deal and becomes their sixth prospect to sign within one month, joining Porter Martone, Noah Powell, Cole Knuble, Alex Ciernik, and Riley Thompson. In club play this year with Färjestad BK of Sweden’s top professional league (the Swedish Hockey League), Berglund scored seven goals and five assists over forty games and added three assists during seven playoff appearances.
Berglund progressed through Färjestad BK’s system from youth levels up to making his SHL debut during the 2023-24 season when he led all under-18 players in points. Over parts of three seasons with Färjestad BK’s senior team, he has totaled nine goals and sixteen points across sixty-five career games.
