The Philadelphia Flyers released a letter to their fans on May 11 following the end of the 2025-26 hockey season. The letter, signed by Dan Hilferty, Keith Jones, Danny Briere, and Rick Tocchet, reflected on the team’s playoff run and expressed gratitude for fan support.

The message acknowledged the strong connection between the team and its supporters during an eventful postseason. Team leaders said that returning to the playoffs showed how deeply Flyers hockey is felt in Philadelphia. “This run was made possible by the determination and belief of our players and coaches, but what made it special, and frankly gave us chills, was the unmatched commitment and atmosphere you created!” they wrote.

They described moments such as a standing ovation at the final game as reminders of why they do what they do. The letter stated: “Throughout this stretch, we felt you with us. Every game, every shift, you were right there – lifting us, pushing us, reminding everyone what Flyers hockey means to Philadelphia.” They also thanked fans for their continued support regardless of when their journey began with the team.

The Flyers’ leadership looked ahead to future seasons with optimism: “As we close out a season that defied expectations, we are energized by what lies ahead.” They mentioned that this year offered a glimpse into the potential of both players and organizational culture.

The Philadelphia Flyers compete as a professional ice hockey team in the National Hockey League (NHL), providing entertainment through games and engaging in community outreach programs such as cancer awareness initiatives according to the official website.

In closing their letter to fans Hilferty, Jones, Briere and Tocchet wrote: “What we experienced together this season is only the beginning. Let’s Go Flyers!”
