Temple Health was recently featured in a WHYY article that examines how Philadelphia doctors are integrating artificial intelligence (AI) note-taking tools into patient visits. The report highlights the experiences of several Temple Health professionals as they discuss the impact of AI on their clinical workflow.
Dr. Laura Igarabuza, Assistant Professor of Clinical Family and Community Medicine and a member of the Center for Health Justice and Bioethics at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, shared her perspective on how AI is changing patient interactions. “AI helps me focus more on talking to patients,” Dr. Igarabuza said.
Other Temple Health leaders also contributed to the discussion. Katie Deschaine, Vice President of Clinical Applications, IT Administration at Temple Health; Esme Singer, MD, MBA, FACP, Chief Medical Officer of Temple Faculty Practice Plan; and Benjamin Slovis, MD, Chief Medical Information Officer at Temple University Hospital were interviewed and provided their insights for the story.
Additionally, it was noted that Labor & Delivery services have moved from Temple University Hospital–Main Campus (Broad & Ontario) to a new women & families hospital.
