The University of Pennsylvania women’s squash team secured an 8-1 victory over fourth-ranked Stanford in their home opener, bringing their season record to 5-0. The match, held in Philadelphia, marked the Quakers’ first win against a top-five ranked opponent this season.
Several matches were closely contested. Sohalia Ismail and Allie Stoddard each won their matches 3-2, while Ashna Tumuluri posted a 3-1 victory. In the top position, Malak Khafagy defeated All-American Riya Navani with a straight-set win, 11-9, 11-9, 11-5. Team captain Franka Vidovic overcame Amelie Haworth in five sets.
Anne Leakey continued her strong performance this season by securing her fifth individual win, the highest on the team so far.
