The University of Pennsylvania women’s lacrosse team will continue its final road trip of the regular season with a game against fifth-ranked Yale on April 11. The match is scheduled for noon at Reese Stadium in New Haven, Connecticut.

This matchup holds significance as both teams are undefeated in Ivy League play, each holding a conference record of 4-0. Penn enters the contest with an overall record of 6-5, while Yale stands at 10-2.

The all-time series between Penn and Yale is close, with Penn holding a slight advantage at 27 wins, 23 losses, and one tie. However, Yale has won the last four meetings between the programs. Last season, the Bulldogs defeated Penn twice: once in a regular-season game that ended 10-9 after four overtime periods at Franklin Field and again in the Ivy League Tournament semifinals by a score of 11-10. The Quakers’ most recent win over Yale came during the 2023 campaign when they secured a dramatic overtime victory to claim the Ivy League Tournament title.

Earlier this week, Penn improved to 4-0 in league play by defeating No. 21 Princeton in double-overtime on ESPNU. Lela Greene scored the winning goal to secure Penn’s second ranked victory this season and mark head coach Karin Brower’s career milestone—her 300th win as head coach. Patricia Columbia-Walsh led offensively with five points including four goals; Greene added her third hat trick of the year while Eden Welch and Catherine Berkery also contributed goals.

On defense, Natasha Yajadda caused four turnovers as part of a team effort that saw Penn force thirteen turnovers overall against Princeton’s eight. Goalkeeper Orly Sedransk recorded ten saves for her sixth double-digit save performance this season.

Looking ahead to Saturday’s game against Yale, Berkery leads Penn with thirty-one goals so far this year while Sedransk has stopped over one hundred shots through eleven games. For Yale, Kate Gould leads with twenty-three assists and forty-eight points; Kelly Holmes tops their scoring chart with twenty-nine goals; goalkeeper Niamh Pfaff has posted seventy-seven saves along with a .500 save percentage.
