The University of Pennsylvania men’s and women’s squash teams are set to compete in the 2026 College Squash Association (CSA) Individual Championships, which begin Friday, January 23, and run through Tuesday, January 27 in New York City.
Five members from the Penn women’s team will participate for a chance at the Ramsay Cup. The players include Malak Khafagy (No. 2), Franka Vidovic (No. 8), Malak Taha (No. 17), Sohalia Ismail (No. 18), and Allie Stoddard (No. 33). In first round action, Taha is scheduled to play Charlotte Jones of Denison at noon on Friday in the round of 64. Ismail faces Anabel Romero Gemmell from Dickinson at 12:50 p.m., while Stoddard meets Emma Bartley of Drexel at 1:40 p.m.
Vidovic and Khafagy both have byes in the opening round. Vidovic will compete against either Ona Blasco or Riya Shankaran in the round of 32 at 5 p.m., while Khafagy will play either Aishwarya Khubchandani from Cornell or Madison Ho from Stanford in her next match at 6 p.m.
On the men’s side, five athletes from Penn’s defending back-to-back national champion squad will vie for the Pool Trophy: Omar Hafez (No. 2), Salman Khalil (No. 5), Marwan Abdelsalam (No.10), Alexander Dartnell (No.25), and Rustin Wiser (No.27). Khalil has a bye and will face either his teammate Dartnell or Dartmouth’s Arihant Kalamangalan Sunil at 7 p.m., depending on who wins their earlier match.
Abdelsalam is matched up with Tufts’ Nachiket Desai at 3:20 p.m., while Wiser plays Arhan Chandra of Columbia at 4:10 p.m. Hafez also receives a first-round bye; he is slated to meet either Nicolas Serna of Drexel or Wenqing Tang of Navy later that evening at 8 p.m.
