Penn squash teams defeat Columbia; women reach double-digit wins

The University of Pennsylvania men’s and women’s squash teams achieved victories over Columbia in New York on Friday. The matches followed recent performances at the CSA Individual Championships.

The Penn women’s team reached their 10th win of the season, becoming the first College Squash Association (CSA) team to achieve double-digit wins this year. Franka Vidovic secured her ninth win by sweeping Nourin Khalifa in the top position. Seven members of the women’s squad, including Vidovic, recorded 3-0 sweeps. Savannah Ingledew remained undefeated for the season with a 9-0 record, leading her team in total wins.

On the men’s side, Omar Hafez built on his national championship run from the CSA Individuals with a 3-1 victory over Yusuf Sheikh at first position. Hafez is now tied for most wins on his team with eight. Teammates Salman Khalil, Alex Dartnell, Rehan Luthra, and Varun Chitturi also posted 3-0 sweeps against Columbia.

Detailed match results were provided for both teams. The Quakers will next face Cornell in Ithaca on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Penn baseball completes sweep over Harvard with 7-6 victory

Penn baseball defeated Harvard 7-6 on April 26 to complete a weekend sweep. Freshman pitcher Ben Moulin delivered five scoreless innings as eight Quakers recorded hits. The team now prepares for an important series against Brown.
