Shaurya Bharadwaj, a sophomore on the University of Pennsylvania men’s tennis team, concluded his participation at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s All-American Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Bharadwaj ended his singles run with one win and one loss.
On Saturday afternoon, Bharadwaj defeated Luca Lemaitre from Santa Clara University in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1. He was then eliminated in the next prequalifying round by Taym Alazmeh of Michigan State, who won 6-4, 6-3.
Other members of the Penn Quakers remain active in the tournament. Manfredi Graziani is scheduled to play Mario Martinez Serrano from Mississippi State at 11 a.m., while Aaron Sandler will partner with Graziani for doubles competition later in the day at 5:30 p.m.
