University of Pennsylvania senior goalkeeper Annabel Austen has been named the Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week for women’s soccer. This marks her fourth time receiving this honor, with three previous awards earned during the 2024 season.

Austen, who was a first team All-Ivy selection last year, helped lead Penn to two shutout wins in the past week. She recorded five saves against Drexel and two saves against George Mason. These results have contributed to Penn’s strongest start since 2021 and mark the first time since 2013 that the team has opened a season with three consecutive shutouts.

Austen is now just one shutout away from matching her total from last season. The Quakers will look to continue their strong defensive performance on Thursday at 6 p.m., when they travel for their first road game of 2025 against FDU.
