The University of Pennsylvania men’s lacrosse team, ranked 16th nationally, will travel to play Dartmouth in an Ivy League matchup on March 28. The game is set for 1 p.m. and will be held in Hanover, New Hampshire.
This meeting marks the 76th time Penn and Dartmouth have played each other since their series began in 1928. Penn leads the series with a record of 47-28. Last year, Dartmouth defeated Penn in overtime at Franklin Field with a score of 9-8.
Penn enters the contest with a record of four wins and four losses overall, including one win and one loss within the Ivy League. The Quakers have won their last five games against Dartmouth when playing away from home. Their most recent victory in Hanover was an 11-8 decision two years ago.
The team continues its tradition of facing strong opponents this season under new head coach Taylor Wray. The schedule includes seven games against teams ranked in the Inside Lacrosse Preseason Top 20 poll and several others receiving votes.
Junior Davis Provost currently leads Penn in goals (22), points (26), and shots on goal (45). Senior Griffin Scane has scored multiple goals in several games this season, while freshman Jackson Maher leads with ten assists and is second on the team for total points. On defense, sophomore Dante Vardaro has contributed both defensively and offensively this year.
Looking ahead, Penn’s only remaining home game comes next Saturday against Cornell on Alumni Day at Franklin Field.
