The University of Pennsylvania men’s golf team placed seventh out of 12 teams at the Temple Invitational, which concluded Tuesday at The 1912 Club in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania. The event spanned two days and consisted of 36 holes on a par-70 course.
Penn finished with a team score of 31-over-par 871. At the top of the leaderboard, Drexel, La Salle, and Lehigh each posted scores of 857, resulting in a three-way tie for first place.
Freshman Arjun Caprihan led Penn’s efforts by shooting rounds of 72, 69, and 73 to finish at four-over-par 214. This performance placed him tied for eighth among a field of 72 golfers. Junior Hayden Adams recorded a total score of seven-over-par 217 to tie for sixteenth place. Max Fonseca followed closely with a score of 219, tying him for twenty-third position. Kayden Wang contributed scores on Monday and ended with a total of 226 (+16), while Ryan Chang scored on Tuesday and completed the tournament at 227 (+17).
East Carolina’s Philip Bondestad won individual honors by finishing at six-under-par 204, five strokes ahead of Jake Roth from Lehigh who was second at one-under-par 209. These two were the only competitors to finish under par during the event.
The Penn men’s golf team is scheduled to compete next at the Hamptons Intercollegiate on October 6-7.
