The University of Pennsylvania men’s basketball team will host Lafayette on Monday night at The Palestra in Philadelphia, following a recent loss to Villanova in the Big 5 Classic championship game. This matchup marks Penn’s final contest before fall-term exams begin.
The game is scheduled for December 8 at 6 p.m., and fans can watch it live on ESPN+, listen via the Quaker Audio Network, or follow live stats online. According to Penn Athletics, this meeting will be the 58th between the Quakers and the Leopards, with Penn holding a 46-11 advantage in the series. Lafayette won last year’s encounter in Easton, ending a stretch where Penn had taken six of seven previous games. However, Penn has won the last four games against Lafayette played at The Palestra.

Several players have made notable contributions so far this season. Michael Zanoni has maintained a perfect free throw record (16-for-16), while Cam Thrower has converted 14 of his 15 attempts. Freshman Dalton Scantlebury went 10-for-10 from the field in a recent win against Merrimack and averages 3.25 offensive rebounds per game—leading the Ivy League and ranking 46th nationally. He also stands third among Ivy League players in blocked shots per game (1.5).
Other highlights include AJ Levine averaging 3.5 assists per game—tied for fourth in the Ivy League—and TJ Power ranking second among Ivy players with an average of 7.9 rebounds per game.
Penn overcame a significant deficit earlier this season when they rallied from down by fifteen points to defeat La Salle during the Cathedral Classic tournament.
The Quakers’ schedule features five home games each in November and February but only four combined home games during December and January. Notably, Penn will face Rutgers on December 20 for their first matchup since 1975 and will play NJIT at home on New Year’s Eve.
Two of Penn’s Ivy League matchups—against Yale (January 24) and Princeton (February 7)—will air nationally on ESPNU.
