Penn men’s and women’s squash teams secure wins over Cornell

The University of Pennsylvania men’s and women’s squash teams achieved victories over Cornell on Saturday in Ithaca, New York. The women’s team maintained their undefeated record with their eleventh win of the season, while the men secured their ninth victory.

For the women, Malak Khafagy, Malak Taha, Sohalia Ismail, Allie Stoddard, Ashna Tumuluri, and Savannah Ingledew each won their matches in straight games. The men’s team also saw all but one player sweep their opponents as they recorded back-to-back wins.

Over the weekend, both Penn teams defeated Columbia and Cornell to finish 4-0.

In individual results for the men’s team against Cornell: Omar Hafez defeated Syan Singh 3-0; Salman Khalil beat Youssef Sarhan 3-0; Marwan Abdelsalam overcame Aly Ezzat 3-1; Alex Dartnell won against Arnav Tevatia 3-0; Rustin Wiser bested Roman Bicknell 3-0; Gregory Malsang topped Ethan Jain 3-0; Rehan Luthra prevailed over Vedant Chheda 3-0; Varun Chitturi defeated Grant Yoshkoff 3-0; and Hao Cui won against Sebastian Dobron 3-0.

On the women’s side: Malak Khafagy beat Aishwarya Khubchandani 3-0; Franka Vidovic defeated Alysa Ali 3-1; Malak Taha overcame Vicky Lai 3-0; Sohalia Ismail bested Sabine Ball 3-0; Allie Stoddard won against Christa Kay 3-0; Anne Leakey prevailed over Maya Voloshin 3-1; Hailey Wong beat Lamees Shalaby 3-1; Ashna Tumuluri topped Calla Yim 3-0; and Savannah Ingledew defeated Devon Shatzman 3-0.

Both Penn teams are scheduled to play Princeton in New Jersey on Saturday, February 7 at 1 p.m.
