The University of Pennsylvania men’s golf team finished fifth out of 12 teams at the Princeton Invitational, which concluded on April 12 at Springdale Golf Club in Princeton, New Jersey.
The event was a two-day, 54-hole tournament played on a par-71 course. Penn posted its best team score on Sunday with an even-par 284, tying for third among all teams that day. The Quakers ended the tournament at 22-over-par 874, just one shot behind Seton Hall. Harvard claimed the team title with a score of three-under-par 849, finishing six strokes ahead of Georgetown. Host Princeton took third place at five-over-par.
Hayden Adams led Penn individually by shooting a three-under-par 68 in the final round and finishing tied for eighteenth overall with a total score of four-over-par 217. Kayden Wang matched Adams’ tournament total to also tie for eighteenth place. Freshman Arjun Caprihan recorded a one-under-par round on Sunday and ended tied for thirty-second overall. Other contributors included Ryan Chang and Wesley Hu, who both scored during the weekend.
Princeton’s Reed Greyserman won individual honors after posting a seven-under-par total across three rounds, six shots clear of his nearest competitors from Harvard and Columbia.
Looking ahead, Penn will compete in the Ivy League Championship from April 24 to April 26 at Baltusrol in Springfield, New Jersey.
