The University of Pennsylvania will host the Penn Select track and field meet on January 10 at the Jane and David Ott Center for Track and Field in Philadelphia. The event marks the return of both the men’s and women’s teams to their home facility.
Field events, including weight throw, high jump, pole vault, and long jump, are set to begin at noon. Running events will follow at 2:00 p.m., starting with the women’s mile. Teams from Delaware State, Howard, LaSalle, Lehigh, Morgan State, Rider, Rutgers, St. Joseph’s, Temple, Townson, Villanova, and Penn will compete.
Ticket prices are $5 for youth ages 2-12 and $10 for adults. Spectators can access live results and a schedule of events online or watch live coverage on ESPN+.
Several Penn athletes have recently achieved notable performances. Jessica Oji broke the Ivy League indoor record in shot put during her collegiate debut at the Penn Opener with a mark of 17.72 meters (58′ 1.75″). Adannia Agbo set a new school record in triple jump with a distance of 13.05 meters (42′ 9.75″), which ranks second nationally in the NCAA.
Jake Rose won six out of seven events in the men’s heptathlon and set a school record by scoring 5,647 points. Freshman Joseph “Tiago” Socarras claimed victory in the men’s 1000m with a school record time of 2:20.39.
The men’s 4x400m relay team—Leo Francis, Nayyir Newash-Campbell, Tiago Socarras, and Ryan Matulonis—also set a school record by finishing first with a time of 3:09.78.
Other top national rankings include Matthew Kathiravelu’s triple jump performance (16th), Keira Beaumont’s result in the women’s 60m dash (22nd), Ryan Matulonis’ finish in the men’s 60m hurdles (25th), Raina Pietrzak’s pentathlon score (25th), as well as strong placements for both men’s (6th) and women’s (17th) 4x400m relay teams.

Jessica Oji and Jake Rose were named Ivy League Athletes of the Week on December 9.

– Stan Scott Invitational on January 30–31 in Lubbock, Texas.
The Ott Center is a newly constructed facility covering over seventy-three thousand square feet along River Fields Drive near Penn Park and adjacent to Hollenback Center. It features natural lighting through large windows facing the Schuylkill River and includes amenities such as a banked two-hundred-meter running track designed for optimal race conditions; runways for long/triple jumps and pole vault; an eight-lane sprinting area; space for high jump; throwing areas; and seating capacity exceeding one thousand spectators.
The center supports youth through college-level competition throughout its calendar year while honoring Penn’s tradition of excellence—including hosting support for historic events like the Penn Relays, known as one of America’s oldest track meets.
