The University of Pennsylvania gymnastics team received 21 selections to the All-Gymnastics East Conference (GEC) First and Second Teams, according to a March 19 announcement from the conference office.

This recognition highlights the achievements of 12 individual gymnasts from Penn. The First Team includes Jordan Barrow, who was selected for vault, bars, and beam; Manama Fofana for vault, beam, and floor; Maggie Murphy for vault and beam; Ananya Patanakul for vault; Luci Toczydlowski for bars; Sophia Paris for bars; Ruth Whaley for beam; Alisha Werlen for beam; and Mimi Fletcher for beam.

The Second Team features several members who also appeared on the First Team as well as new honorees. Marissa Lassiter was named to the Second Team in vault, bars, and floor. Sienna Zuccaro earned a spot on vault. Ruth Whaley was recognized again on bars. Ava Hooten made the list on floor, while Mimi Fletcher was also honored on floor.

Selections were based on National qualifying scores (NQS), with First Team honors going to those placing in the top six scores in their events and Second Team honors awarded to those in the following six positions.

Penn’s gymnastics program has relied on its deep roster throughout what it describes as its best regular season ever, achieving 23 wins. The team is preparing to compete at the GEC Championships this Saturday as it aims for a third consecutive “treble.”
