The University of Pennsylvania gymnastics team claimed its fifth straight Gymnastics East Conference (GEC) regular season title, the conference announced on March 16.

This achievement marks a historic milestone for the Quakers, who set a new program record with 23 wins in the regular season, surpassing their previous best of 22 wins set in 2012. The team completed the regular season undefeated against Ivy League opponents with a 7-0 record and also went unbeaten against GEC programs at 13-0. Penn currently holds the #38 spot in the Road to Nationals rankings, which would be its highest-ever finish if maintained.

Head Coach Kirsten Becker said, “I am so proud of our team this season to earn the regular season title. Throughout the season, we primarily focused on consistency both in practice and competition and I was very proud to see the follow-through to accomplish this. We’re hoping to showcase this on Saturday for the GEC Championship!”

With two out of three components needed for what is referred to as the “treble,” Penn now looks ahead to competing in the GEC Championship this weekend in Ithaca, New York. The championship represents their final opportunity to complete this trio of achievements for the year.
