The University of Pennsylvania gymnastics team achieved a season-high score of 196.000 at its Senior Night Quad meet, finishing first among competitors Cornell, George Washington, and William & Mary. George Washington placed second with 194.650 points, while Cornell and William & Mary followed with scores of 192.650 and 190.875 respectively.
On vault, Penn posted a 48.925—its best of the season for that apparatus—with junior Jordan Barrow leading the way by scoring 9.850, which was the top individual mark in the event.
During the bars rotation, Penn demonstrated consistent performances with four out of five gymnasts scoring in the 9.7 range. Barrow again led her team with a score of 9.775, followed closely by junior Luci Toczydlowski at 9.750 and senior Marissa Lassiter at 9.725.
The highlight for Penn came on beam, where the team earned a score of 49.375—the second highest in program history for that event and one of the best single-rotation scores ever recorded by the program across any apparatus. Every gymnast scored above a 9.850 on beam; sophomore Manama Fofana notched a personal-best tying score of 9.925, matching the second-best individual beam score in Penn history.
On floor exercise, Penn reached another milestone with a rotation total of 49.075—making it their second time surpassing a score of 49 in one night this season after achieving it only once previously through four meets this year. Sophomore Mimi Fletcher started with a score of 9.775, Ava Hooten contributed a 9.825, Maggie Murphy posted a 9.800, Marissa Lassiter scored 9.850, and Manama Fofana closed out with another strong performance at 9.825.
Additional notes from the meet highlight that Penn’s overall team total is now ranked as its sixth-best ever and marks just the sixth occasion reaching or surpassing this level in school history.
Penn’s beam total ranks as both its second highest on that apparatus and third highest among all single-rotation scores recorded by any Penn squad.
Sophomore Manama Fofana has improved her personal best three weeks running.
The Quakers’ next competition will be February 15 at home against Towson and West Chester.
