The University of Pennsylvania field hockey team is set to face Dartmouth in an Ivy League match on Friday, September 26 at 3 p.m. The game will take place at Ellen Vagelos Field in Philadelphia and will be available for viewing on ESPN+.

Penn enters the matchup with a 3-3 overall record and is looking for its first back-to-back wins of the season after defeating Drexel at home last Sunday. Both Penn and Dartmouth are currently 0-1 in Ivy League play.

The Quakers have had recent success against Dartmouth, holding a nine-game winning streak over the Big Green. The last time Dartmouth defeated Penn was in 2014 with a 5-3 victory in Hanover, New Hampshire. Last year, Penn shut out Dartmouth 3-0 at Memorial Field.

Several players contributed to Penn’s recent win over Drexel. Four different Quakers scored goals, including Julia Ryan who leads the team this season with four goals. Honor Roberts added her third goal of the year and recorded an assist during that game.

Goalkeeper Ruby de Frees was named Penn Athlete of the Week last week. She currently has a save percentage of 0.689 and allows an average of 2.38 goals per game this season.

Dartmouth comes into Friday’s contest with a 2-3 record, having lost its last three games against UMass, Harvard, and New Hampshire. Junior Ella Bowman and sophomore Amelie Luessmann lead Dartmouth’s offense with three goals each; Bowman also has two game-winning goals this season, which is the second highest in the Ivy League. Additionally, Ella Bowman ranks eleventh and Riley Dumigan ranks sixth in assists among all Ivy League players.
