The University of Pennsylvania’s men’s and women’s cross country teams have received all Ivy League weekly awards following their recent performances. Sahil Dodda was named men’s athlete of the week, while Lily Murphy earned the title of women’s athlete of the week.

Dodda secured first place in the men’s four-mile race at the Main Line Invitational in Haverford, Pennsylvania, finishing with a time of 19:19.6. He initially led at the .925 mile mark before dropping to third place but regained his lead at the 3.075 mile marker and maintained it through to the finish line. The Penn men’s team won the event with a total of 24 points.

Murphy claimed victory in the women’s 5k race, recording a personal-best time of 16:48.6 and finishing nearly 25 seconds ahead of her closest competitor. She took control of the race at the 1600-meter mark and remained in front for the remainder. The Penn women’s team finished second overall.

The Quakers are scheduled to compete next on October 3 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, at the Paul Short Run.
