Andrew Painter, a right-handed pitcher for Triple-A Lehigh Valley and the top prospect in the Philadelphia Phillies organization, delivered his strongest outing in nearly a month on Friday. Painter allowed one run and struck out five batters over five innings, throwing 90 pitches with 57 strikes. Despite allowing eight baserunners, he kept opponents off the scoreboard until the fifth inning when he gave up consecutive doubles.
Elsewhere in Minor League Baseball, several other prospects had notable performances. Lazaro Montes of the Arkansas Travelers hit two home runs for the second time in less than a week, tying him for the Minor League lead with 31 homers this season. Max Clark returned to action for Double-A Erie after missing two games due to a sore wrist and hit his 12th home run of the year.
Payton Tolle continued his strong season for Triple-A Worcester by allowing just one run over five innings while striking out nine. Charlie Condon of Double-A Hartford added another home run and drove in three runs during his third straight multi-hit game.
Jeferson Quero extended his hitting streak to eight games with a home run and double for Triple-A Nashville. Alfredo Duno went deep for Single-A Daytona for a third straight game, bringing his total to 14 homers this season.
Wehiwa Aloy hit his first professional home run as part of a multi-hit effort for Single-A Delmarva. Caden Dana set a career high with 13 strikeouts over seven innings pitched for Salt Lake, while Daniel Eagen made an impressive Double-A debut by tossing 7 2/3 shutout innings with eight strikeouts.
