Orly Sedransk of the University of Pennsylvania women’s lacrosse team was named Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week, according to a March 9 announcement from the league.
The recognition comes after Sedransk delivered a standout performance in Penn’s 14-10 victory over Dartmouth during their Ivy League opener. The sophomore goalkeeper recorded a career-high 17 saves, surpassing her previous best of 14. She achieved a .630 save percentage in the game, marking her highest rate this season.
Sedransk’s efforts were key to securing the win for Penn and highlighted her growth as an important player for the team. Her performance helped set the tone for Penn’s conference play and demonstrated her ability to handle high-pressure situations.
Looking ahead, Sedransk and her teammates will continue their road schedule with a match against sixth-ranked Florida on Wednesday, March 11 at noon.
The team’s upcoming contest is expected to be another test as they face one of the top programs in collegiate women’s lacrosse.
