Philadelphia, November 17, 2025 – Michael Zanoni, a guard for the University of Pennsylvania men’s basketball team, has been named the Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week. This marks his first time receiving this weekly honor since joining the Quakers.
Zanoni is a senior who transferred from Mercer and still has one season of athletic eligibility left. He was recognized after scoring a career-high 30 points during Penn’s recent game against Providence. In that game, Zanoni made 10 out of 17 shots from the field, including five three-pointers out of eight attempts, and converted all five free throws. With this performance, he has accumulated 50 points in two games against Division I opponents so far this season. Earlier on November 9, he scored 20 points with six three-pointers in a matchup against American.
Penn currently holds a record of two wins and one loss. The team is scheduled to play both its Big 5 pod games this week: they will host Saint Joseph’s tonight at 7 p.m., followed by an away game at Drexel on Friday.
