Michael A. Young, President and CEO of Temple Health, recently discussed his tenure at the organization in an interview with Becker’s Hospital Review. Young, who will retire on January 2, 2026, reflected on more than seven years leading Temple Health and over three decades in senior healthcare leadership roles.

During his time at Temple Health, Young led several strategic initiatives. These included the acquisition of Chestnut Hill Hospital and the establishment of the Temple Women & Families Hospital. He also focused on ensuring financial stability for the health system.

Young highlighted his approach to leadership: “His smart risks and thoughtful, deliberate cultivation of talent– at Temple and beyond – leave the institution well-positioned for the future.”

Additionally, it was announced that Labor & Delivery services have moved from Temple University Hospital–Main Campus to the new women & families hospital.
