Pennsylvania State Representative Martina White has recently used her social media platform to address tax policy and education concerns, highlighting her legislative priorities and advocacy for increased educational opportunities in the Commonwealth.
On April 15, White posted about government spending and tax policy, stating, “Tax Day is a reminder that every dollar the government spends comes from someone who worked hard to earn it. I want you to keep more – and the government to take less. That’s why I supported expanding property tax rebates for seniors, helped advance the Working Pennsylvanians”.
A day later, on April 16, she commented on student proficiency rates at Harrisburg High School: “The report card from Harrisburg is in and the results are alarming. Just 12% of Harrisburg High School students are proficient in reading. Only 2% are proficient in math. And science proficiency is just 3%. Our students deserve better. It’s time for Pennsylvania to opt-in to”.
On April 17, White referenced a recent press conference where she advocated for Pennsylvania’s participation in a federal tax credit program: “One week ago today, I spoke at a press conference urging Pennsylvania to opt-in to a federal tax credit program that could unlock $1 billion in scholarships for students across our Commonwealth. Families deserve more educational choices.”
