Jalen Hurts led the Philadelphia Eagles to a 31-0 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, delivering one of his most efficient performances of the season. The quarterback completed 12 out of 15 passes for 175 yards and three touchdowns, finishing with a passer rating of 154.9, which marks the second highest in his career. The win improved the Eagles’ record to 9-5 and brought them closer to securing the NFC East title.

Hurts’ performance followed a challenging game just six days earlier, where he threw four interceptions and lost a fumble in an overtime loss against the Chargers. His ability to recover was highlighted by Head Coach Nick Sirianni, who said, “He’s resilient. Always has been resilient and thought he was really good running the offense, being in command out there, just making good decisions with the football, good runs. He had a good game.”

The Eagles started strong with Hurts leading a touchdown drive on their opening possession that ended with a four-yard shovel pass to Dallas Goedert. By halftime, Philadelphia held a 17-0 lead.

In the second half, Hurts directed another long scoring drive that also finished with a touchdown pass to Goedert. Later in the third quarter, Hurts found A.J. Brown for a 27-yard touchdown on third down before leaving the field as Tanner McKee took over at quarterback.

After the game, Hurts commented on his mindset: “I think everybody needs to remember where I come from and how I’m built,” he said. “I just want to lead in the right way, set the right example. I’ve done the same thing since I went to University of Alabama and everything that has been in front of me, so it’s no different now.”

Philadelphia’s defense contributed significantly by shutting out an opponent for the first time since 2018 and limiting Las Vegas to only 75 total yards—the fewest allowed by Philadelphia during Super Bowl era games.

“It’s great. A great defensive performance,” Hurts stated after being asked about his team’s efforts on both sides of the ball. “I don’t think that’s something that you can dismiss or undervalue…to give up 75 total yards of offense, and leave the game with a goose egg on the board. You couldn’t ask for anything more. So, glad we were able to complement them on the other side of the ball today.”

The Eagles had recently endured tough losses but responded decisively against Las Vegas behind Hurts’ leadership.

“I’ve learned a lot from all the losses. I’ve learned a lot from all victories,” Hurts reflected postgame. “I think a special one usually has a favor and this feel of discernment, feeling of good faith and belief in work…It’s just a step in that direction…It’s about how you respond to it, step over it and overcome.”
