University of Pennsylvania sophomore goalie Jack Pelot was named the Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week, according to an announcement on Apr. 20.
Pelot received this recognition after his performance in Penn’s 12-11 double-overtime win against Brown, where he recorded 14 saves. Three of these saves came during the overtime periods, helping Penn secure a crucial road victory and keep their hopes alive for a spot in the Ivy League Tournament.
Penn currently holds a record of six wins and six losses overall, with three wins and three losses in Ivy League play. The team has finished its conference schedule for the season and is awaiting results from other games to determine if they will qualify for the tournament.
The Quakers are set to close out their regular season on Friday with a neutral-site game against UMass at Farmingdale High School on Long Island. The match is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.
