The nominees for the 2025 Hank Aaron Award, which recognizes the best offensive player in each league during the regular season, have been announced. The award, established in 1999 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Hank Aaron breaking Babe Ruth’s all-time home run record, is determined by votes from a panel of Hall of Famers and baseball fans. Voting is currently open and will close on Sunday at 11:59 p.m. ET.

Winners will be revealed live at The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas on Thursday, November 13, during a special presentation at the MLB Awards presented by MGM Rewards.

Among the American League nominees are Byron Buxton (Twins), who played his most games since 2017 and set career highs in several categories; Junior Caminero (Rays), who became one of the youngest players to hit 40 home runs in a season; Riley Greene (Tigers), with his first 30-homer, 100-RBI season; Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (Blue Jays), who posted strong numbers for the AL East champions; and Aaron Judge (Yankees), who had another notable season with his fourth campaign of over 50 home runs and his first batting title.

Other AL nominees include Nick Kurtz (Athletics), Cal Raleigh (Mariners), José Ramírez (Guardians), George Springer (Blue Jays), and Bobby Witt Jr. (Royals).

National League candidates feature Pete Alonso (Mets), Corbin Carroll (D-backs), Shohei Ohtani (Dodgers)—who broke his own single-season home run record for the Dodgers—and Geraldo Perdomo (D-backs). Phillies designated hitter Kyle Schwarber is also nominated after leading the NL with 56 home runs and an MLB-best 132 RBIs. His teammate Trea Turner earned a nomination as well after leading the NL in batting average despite missing part of September due to injury.

Other NL nominees include Juan Soto (Mets), Fernando Tatis Jr. (Padres), Kyle Tucker (Cubs), and Christian Yelich (Brewers).

Kyle Schwarber’s performance was instrumental in helping the Phillies secure an NL East title this season. Trea Turner contributed significantly at the top of Philadelphia’s lineup, setting up key hitters like Schwarber and Bryce Harper.

Fan voting for this year’s Hank Aaron Award continues through Sunday night.
