Manfredi Graziani and Aaron Sandler from the University of Pennsylvania men’s tennis team won a close match against Michael Andre and Sam Landau of Indiana at the ITA Doubles All-American Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Penn pair secured the victory in three sets with scores of 7-5, 6-7(3), and 12-10.
Following this win, Graziani and Sandler are set to face Jay Friend and Pepijn Bastiaansen from Arizona, who hold the 41st spot in the ITA’s preseason doubles rankings. The match is scheduled for today at 4 p.m.
In singles play, Graziani began his campaign with a loss to Mario Martinez Serrano of Mississippi State, with set scores of 6-1 and 6-0. He will have another opportunity to compete when he plays Luis Felipe Miguel from Florida State today at 10 a.m.
