The University of Pennsylvania women’s golf team began its 2025-26 season with a sixth-place finish at the Nittany Lion Invitational, held at Penn State’s Blue Course in University Park, Pennsylvania. The event featured 16 teams competing over two days and 54 holes.
Penn finished with a team score of 31-over-par 895, recording rounds of 305, 290, and 300. Host Penn State won the tournament with a score of 14-over-par 878, narrowly defeating Delaware by one stroke and Yale by two strokes.
Two freshmen led the Quakers in their first collegiate tournaments. Mi Li finished tied for fourth overall out of 89 golfers after posting rounds of even par and a second-round score of one-under-par, totaling one-under-par 215 for the weekend. She also tied for fourth in par-4 scoring at one under and was tied for sixth with nine birdies.
Adrienne Ahn-Upton, another freshman, recovered from an opening round of 79 to shoot scores of 71 and 72 in her final two rounds. She ended the tournament at nine-over-par 225, tying for 30th place and finishing fifth in the field with 40 pars.
Seniors Bridget O’Keefe and Julie Shin both completed the event with scores of 230. O’Keefe shot even par in her second round, while Shin was tied for sixth in par-5 scoring at two under and tied for tenth with eight birdies. Claire Lu contributed to the team score in two rounds and posted a total score of 234. Lindsay Yao competed as an individual and had Penn’s third-best round on Monday as part of her three-round total of 241.
Yale’s Mia Sessa claimed individual honors by shooting five-under-par 211, finishing two strokes ahead of Maryland’s Surapa Janthamunee and three ahead of Duquesne’s Sasha Petrochko.
Penn will next compete at the Princeton Invitational on October 4-5.
