Rick Tocchet’s Philadelphia Flyers, with a record of 19-11-7, are set to face Adam Foote’s Vancouver Canucks (16-19-3) in British Columbia on Tuesday night. This will be the second and final meeting between the two teams this season. The game is scheduled for 10:00 p.m. EST at Rogers Arena and will be broadcast on NBCSP.

The previous matchup between these teams took place on December 22, when the Flyers secured a 5-2 victory at home against the Canucks. The game remained scoreless until Nikita Grebenkin scored in the second period. In the third period, Carl Grundstrom and Christian Dvorak added goals for Philadelphia, giving them a three-goal lead. Max Sasson ended the Flyers’ shutout bid late in the game, but Owen Tippett restored Philadelphia’s margin before Drew O’Connor finished the scoring.

Goaltender Dan Vladar made 22 saves for Philadelphia in that win, while Vancouver’s Thatcher Demko stopped 34 of 38 shots. Following that victory, the Flyers also defeated the Chicago Blackhawks 3-1.

After returning from the NHL’s holiday break, Philadelphia lost 4-1 to Seattle on Sunday. The Canucks recently lost to San Jose but rebounded with a shootout win over Seattle on Monday.

Over their last ten games, Philadelphia has posted a record of 4-2-4 while Vancouver stands at 6-4-0.

The Flyers are currently navigating a demanding stretch of games—this contest marks their second game in four nights and begins a back-to-back sequence. Vancouver is also playing its third game in four nights after going into overtime against Seattle.

Philadelphia has not yet named its starting goaltender for Tuesday; Samuel Ersson could start based on recent practice activity. If so, Dan Vladar would likely play against Calgary next.

With Tyson Foerster still out of action, Matvei Michkov has joined Noah Cates and Bobby Brink on one line. Michkov scored his only December goal during their last meeting with Vancouver; Cates had been on a four-game point streak before it ended in Seattle; Brink contributed two points in Buffalo earlier this month and had three shots during his last outing against Vancouver.

Carl Grundstrom has helped stabilize Philadelphia’s fourth line since his recall from Lehigh Valley Phantoms, recording six goals over his past ten games. Linemates Grebenkin and Rodrigo Abols have also contributed offensively in recent outings.

On special teams, Philadelphia went scoreless on three power plays against Seattle despite generating pressure early. For the season, their power play ranks 25th in the league at a success rate of 16.3 percent; they were also unsuccessful with one opportunity against Vancouver previously. By comparison, Vancouver’s penalty kill ranks near the bottom at 75 percent efficiency while their power play sits at twelfth overall (20 percent). The Flyers’ penalty kill remains strong at ninth-best (82.5 percent).

The Philadelphia Flyers compete as a professional ice hockey team within the National Hockey League since joining as part of its first major expansion in 1967 and have achieved notable milestones including Stanley Cup victories and community initiatives through their home base at Wells Fargo Center.
