The Philadelphia Flyers lost to the Toronto Maple Leafs in overtime, 2-1, at Xfinity Mobile Arena. Rookie Easton Cowan scored the game-winning goal for Toronto during sudden death.

The first period ended without a goal, with Toronto winning most of the faceoffs. Travis Konecny put the Flyers ahead early in the second period with his 14th goal of the season, assisted by Christian Dvorak and Rasmus Ristolainen.

In the third period, a missed power play opportunity for the Flyers led to a shorthanded counterattack from Toronto. Scott Laughton tied the game at 1-1. The game went into overtime, where Cowan scored at 2:47 after receiving a backhand pass from John Tavares.

Dan Vladar made 22 saves on 24 shots for Philadelphia. Dennis Hildeby stopped 21 of 22 shots for Toronto and earned the win.

The Flyers were unable to convert on three power play opportunities and allowed a shorthanded goal. They successfully killed both penalties they faced.

Travis Konecny did not return for the third period due to an upper body injury. Matvei Michkov returned to the lineup after missing a previous game with a lower-body injury and played nearly 15 minutes, contributing two shots on goal and blocking one shot.

Nikita Grebenkin, acquired last year in a trade that sent Scott Laughton to Toronto, played over 13 minutes and moved up in line combinations after Konecny’s injury. Rasmus Ristolainen logged significant ice time due to Jamie Drydale’s absence from injury.

The Philadelphia Flyers are part of the National Hockey League (NHL) and play their home games at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. The team was established in 1967 as part of NHL expansion and has won Stanley Cup championships. More information about their roster and activities is available on their official website.
